World skydiving record set in Parker

Last week, KLPZ interviewed local Parker resident Scotty Gallan, who recently turned 70 years old and celebrated by skydiving 70 times in 10 hours at Parker airport on February 12th. Gallan said the jumps were exhausting but satisfying, noting that he and his team believe the event has set a new world record.

Each jump took approximately 6-7 minutes, the plane landing as Gallan dropped out of his used parachute and was fitted with a new chute, freshly packed by his team on the ground.

Gallan is a skydiving veteran, and a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps.
