The annual Parker Tube Float continues with this year’s theme, ‘Let it Ride’, with prizes for various categories including groups, teams, megateams, theme floats and single floaters of various age ranges. The cost is $15 per person and the first 1,000 floaters to register get an event T-shirt.
Boaters and PWC riders are asked to be careful around floaters and reduce speed where necessary. Floaters should sunscreen up and have fun!
I have never seen so many stupid out of control people in all the years they have been doing this tube float. You people from California come over here an get drunk do stupid things and act like complete idiots. Do you act that way at home? Your parents shold not of let you out of your cages.
A big thank you to the Fire Department and the Sheriff Department for having to deal with some of the stupidest people out there you had your hands full and should get a raise. It’s amazing no one got hurt on this float, thank you Officers for getting the drunk drivers off the roads.
Windrunner- Of course they don’t act that way at home; they’re on vacation! We’re a resort town. I’m glad we’re able to play host to lots of people letting loose and having a good time. The safety of this event is unsurpassed and gets better and better each year (rumors are these latest numbers were the highest ever?). Let vacationers act like they’re on vacation, and let permanent residents remember they moved to a resort community! 🙂
John I go to California all the time on vacation and I don’t drink and drive, I don’t get smashed off my ass and not know where my camp site is. There is a big difference between being here on vacation and being stupid. Now if you don’t have a problem with people drinking and driving around our resort town then you have a problem. I commend the Sheriff’s Department for keeping the drunk drivers they caught off the road, what about the ones they didn’t catch? You don’t have a clue what went on with some of these idiots. So don’t even say we have to deal with the hand we’re dealt because we live in a resort town. Parker isn’t a resort town Lake Havasu is.
“Parker isn’t a resort town Lake Havasu is.”
I’m not sure what you think the difference is. People come for the recreational vacation opportunities which are similar in both towns. (I never suggested people should be allowed to drink and drive.)
