‘Controlled fire’ not under control

3:07pm– Earlier today, Parker Live reported with a headline, “Don’t worry…” that the fire burning in the Parker valley was a controlled burn. We’re now hearing that it may not be completely under control.

A fire tanker has reportedly been moved to a nearby residence to protect it, as the fire is within a quarter-mile from the location.

In addition, reports are suggesting that a fire helicopter has been dispatched, with winds pushing the fire to the east.

3:37pm– A wildland fire crew is reportedly waiting for the fire to reach a fire break and then expect to have control.

4:12pm– Reports that a front loader has been used to create a fire break; CRIT Environmental Protection Office assisting.

4:31pm– Fire partially or wholly contained and is reportedly no longer moving. No residences at threat; precautions taken to prevent against wind shifting or falling embers.
