ORIGINAL 12:28pm– The Parker area received almost nine-tenths of an inch of rain last night (0.88in), as recorded at KLPZ radio station in the town of Parker.
The monsoon storm downed power lines in some areas including Quartzsite, and there were isolated power outages in the town of Parker and other areas.
The forecast contains a 91 percent chance of ‘strong thunderstorms’ this afternoon and into tonight. Those traveling on the roads are urged to take extra care because of the possibility of flash flooding and loss of traction.
