Wenden Elementary District has vacant board position

According to La Paz County School Superintendent Janice Shelton, there is an open position on the Wenden Elementary District Governing Board.

Arizona Revised Statues 15-302.3 outlines the county school superintendent’s responsibilities in filling a vacant governing board position. Vacancies may be filled either by appointment or by a special election. Mrs. Shelton has determined that an appointment will best meet the needs of the community and school district. To qualify as a governing board member, the applicant must have been a resident of the Wenden Elementary School District for at least one year prior to the appointment and must be a registered voter in the state of Arizona. Please note that, according to state statute, no employee of a school district, or their spouse, may hold membership on a governing board of a school district by which they are employed.

Interested citizens are asked to complete a Governing Board Application which is available at the Wenden School Office, by calling the Office of the County School Superintendent at (928) 669-6183, or online at lapazschools.org. All applications should be submitted to Janice Shelton, Office of the County School Superintendent, 1112 Joshua Ave., Suite 205, Parker, AZ 85344 no later than 6pm on Monday, October 24, 2011.
