FBI: “We can neither confirm nor deny…”

The FBI in Phoenix says it can “neither confirm nor deny” that they are involved in investigating public corruption in Quartzsite, AZ, after La Paz County Attorney Sam Vederman’s letter requesting that they do so.

The FBI’s Public Corruption Unit exists to combat corruption in government. The unit’s website says that investigating public corruption is their “top priority among criminal investigations – and for good reason.”

It goes on to say that such corruption “…impacts everything from how well our borders are secured and our neighborhoods protected…to verdicts handed down in courts…to the quality of our roads, schools and other government services. And it takes a significant toll on our pocketbooks, wasting billions in tax dollars every year.”
