Yuma-Quartzsite traffic to be delayed by roadworks Apr 2-5

Improvements to US 95 north of Yuma continue next week as crews place the top layer of rubberized asphalt onto the pavement. From Monday (April 2) to Thursday (April 5), workers will temporarily stop traffic as they continue paving sections of US 95. Drivers traveling between Yuma and Quartzsite should allow extra travel time and be prepared for delays near the Yuma Proving Ground, according to the Arizona Department of Transportation.

Crews will work from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Monday (April 2). Crews will work from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday. Traffic will temporarily be stopped and escorted through the work zone. The speed limit in the work zone will be reduced to 45 mph.

The project is scheduled to be completed by early May 2012.
