A Sheriff’s dog was euthanized today due to medical reasons. Kato had been with the La Paz County Sheriff’s Department since 2009, with prior service in the Parker Police Department.
Kato was a dual-purpose K-9 who was involved in numerous drug seizures and arrests. The Sheriff’s Office called him a “warrior”, saying that he was regularly willing to risk his life in service and worked very hard for the citizens of the county.
“Kato will be missed,” a Sheriff’s Department press release said. “Good luck on his journey.”
