Bouse rest area open for 4th

The Bouse Wash rest area along Interstate 10 east of Quartzsite at milepost 53 has reopened in time for holiday travel over the Fourth of July, according to the Arizona Department of Transportation.

The rest area was closed earlier in the year due to a paving project along I-10. While the rest area was closed, crews discovered that underground sewer lines were in need of replacement in order to keep the wastewater system functional.

In addition to the repair of the sewer lines, both eastbound and westbound facilities received new plumbing fixtures such as toilets. Repairs and finishing touches were completed over the weekend.
