The 5th Annual Chili Cookoff, Classic Car Show and Horseshoe Tournament will take place October 27, 2012 at La Paz County Park. The day’s events will include live music from the “Highway 95 Band” and “One-Eyed Romeo” playing classic rock to country and blues. The Soroptimist Diva Bar will be set up
to pour your favorite beverage while the chili and salsa contestants will fill the air with the aroma of their freshly made concoctions. Vendors will be on hand with food, and other products for sale. This is a free event. There is just a small $5 charge for the chili and salsa tasting bracelets. No bracelet; no tasting!
The Parker Rotary Club will produce the Classic Car Show again this year. We are expecting a larger crowd as this event grows. A new feature will be “Adventure Alley” where the Chili Ringers Horseshoe Tournament, the Firemen’s Tug-of-War, an 18 foot water slide and a Dunk Tank. Hopefully some of our candidates will volunteer for that attraction! The event opens at 10 am with Chili and Salsa tasting starting at noon. The prizes include trophies and cash: $500 for first place chili, $200 for first place salsa. Second and third places will get cash and a cool chili ribbon. Trophies and $250 in cash will be given to the first place Horseshoe team. Trophies will be awarded for first place in the Beer Chugging contest for men’s and women’s categories. This year’s raffle is a giant garden wagon filled with goodies from local Chamber Member Businesses.
Entry forms for all the events can be picked up at the Chamber of Commerce or (coming soon) printed from the website www.parkeraz.org
