Lighted Boat Parade this weekend

The Annual Parker Strip Lighted Boat Parade will be held on Saturday, November 24, 2012 along the Colorado River beginning at 6:00 p.m. at the BlueWater Resort & Casino Marina.

Boats will begin lining up at 5:30 p.m. The Buckskin Fire Department and the La Paz County Sheriff’s Department will lead and follow the parade. All boats must be Coast Guard approved, licensed and must carry the appropriate safety gear mandated for that particular vessel and all persons on board said vessel.

All entries will be judged in two basic categories: Best Small Boat (24 feet and under) and Best Large Boat (25 feet and over). The winners in each category will be awarded $500 cash and a trophy. Second place entries will receive a trophy.

All entries must report in at the BlueWater Resort Marina upon arrival to be considered for judging. Chamber staff will be located at the Marina docks.
