New baseball field in Parker to be dedicated in March

The Arizona Diamondbacks announced that they will dedicate Aaron Hill Field, the 33rd ‘Diamonds Back’ Field, presented by APS in Parker, AZ on March 25th.

“As soon as we determined that Aaron would be in Arizona long-term, he asked about getting more involved in the community and the APS Diamonds Back Field program was a great fit,” said D-backs President and CEO Derrick Hall. “Aaron embodies all of the things we look for in a player on and off the field and APS is the perfect partner.”

Several key D-backs and APS officials along with representatives from Parker will be on hand for the dedication ceremony, including Hill, Hall, who will emcee the dedication ceremony, Arizona Public Service Chairman and CEO Don Brandt, Parker Mayor Dan Beaver and Arizona Diamondbacks Foundation President Mike Kennedy.

“Parker illustrates the beauty and quality of life in Arizona. We are proud to partner with the D-backs in adding to this community through the construction of Aaron Hill Field,” said Brandt. “I particularly want to thank the Parker City Council and Mayor Dan Beaver, for all they have done to make this field a reality. Not only do we take great pride in lighting up this remarkable community on the Colorado River but we take just as much pride knowing this field will light up the faces of countless Little Leaguers for years to come.”

Aaron Hill Field will be located at Western Park, 300 Riverside Drive, Parker, Arizona.

“Aaron Hill Field will be something our youth and adults can be proud of,” said Parker Mayor Dan Beaver. “The area of development is a centerpiece for the town and will provide a recreational amenity that is desperately needed to expand on our youth programs. We are now on the map to hold regional tournaments, which we have not done since 1998. Regional tournaments will fulfill our local little league’s desire to meet teams that are outside Parker and enlarge our recreational community.”

Since 2000, the Arizona Diamondbacks Foundation has built or refurbished 32 baseball fields representing a community investment of more than $10 million. With support from APS, and charitable contributions from D-backs players, the program has allowed children from across the state to play baseball and softball at quality facilities. The fields generally feature new lights, a branded electronic scoreboard, new fencing and backstops, new irrigation and new grass and dirt with additional support provided by local contractors and businesses.
