The town of Parker recorded one of the highest temperatures in the state of Arizona and the nation over the weekend, as a strong high-pressure system moved over the western U.S. and brought sizzling temps with it.
On Friday, the high temperature was 120 degrees. On Saturday, the mercury reached 121, the highest temp recorded in at least 12 years. Below, KLPZ’s segment this morning with Charlotte, a meteorologist at the National Weather Service in Phoenix, AZ.
I remember reading in a old book about the state of Arizona when I was in elementary school. It had Parker listed as the record holder for the highest temperature. This had to be at least 20 years ago. Who knows how old the book was on top of that.
