The Parker area woke up to rain, thunder and lightning Thursday as the summer monsoon season began.
The National Weather Service warned of blowing dust for travelers on I-10 Wednesday night and possible low visibility. Flash flooding and power outages are also not uncommon during the annual Arizona monsoon.
The forecast includes heavy thunderstorms for Thursday and mixed weather with a possible lighter storm on Friday. The weekend looks mostly sunny with an average high of 109 degrees.
