Power outage affects La Paz County towns

2:20pm– The town of Parker lost power Wednesday afternoon. No word yet as to why, but APS customers were without power.

2:31pm– Reports that the outage is affecting Bouse and Quartzsite also.

2:50pm– APS says it is experiencing a mechanical issue similar to the second outage late Friday afternoon, which may be relating to overloading. Engineers are currently doing some switching and hope to have power restored within 30 minutes.

2:54pm– Power restored.

The outage comes after APS did some scheduling switching early Wednesday morning around 3 a.m. after a vehicle crashed into a power pole last Friday, causing a 6-hour outage.
