Parker Public Library to offer after school program

Parker Public Library Press Release

Afterschool

The Parker Public Library has created an after school program for children ages 6 to 14 that will focus on reading, spelling, and vocabulary.

The participants will have a stress free reading time, one on one, with an adult or a teen from Youth For Youth from PAACE. Following the reading sessions there will be iPads, Kindles, laptops and tablets loaded with learning apps for the kids to play with. The program starts Sept. 3rd and continues throughout the school year, every Tuesday and Thursday from 3:30 to 4:30. An extra hour, 4:30 to 5:30 will be devoted to special help with spelling/vocabulary and reading. Space is limited, so sign up soon. Come in the library or call (928) 669-2622.

The Parker Library also provides an ongoing program for teens and adults, Job Help @ Your Library. The Job Help center hours are every Tuesday and Thursday, 1:00pm to 6:00pm and every Wednesday, 12:30 to 2:30 at the library. Also, starting Sept. 4th, the instructor will be at the Community/Senior Center every Wednesday from 10:00am to 12:00pm.

This program helps people with resumes, job searches, or enhancing your computer skills. Our instructor will also help with that new device that you’re having trouble figuring out. All programs at the library are free.
