6th Annual Colorado River Chili Cook-Off

The 6th Annual Colorado River Chili Cook-off, Classic Car Show and Horseshoe Tournament will take place October 19, 2013 at La Paz County Park! The day’s events will include live music from“Southbound.” This band is a high-profile act that will get you up and dancing!  The Soroptimist River Diva Bar will be set up to pour your favorite beverage while the chili and salsa contestants will fill the air with the aroma of their freshly made concoctions. Vendors will be on hand with food, and other products for sale. This is a free event. There is just a $5 charge for the chili and salsa tasting bracelets. No bracelet; no tasting!

The Parker Rotary Club will produce the Classic Car Show again this year. We are expecting a larger crowd as this event grows. The “Chili Ringers” Horseshoe Tournament begins at 10 am. The kids will enjoy the 18’ slide at the event right on the river. The event opens at 10 am with Chili and Salsa tasting starting at noon. The prizes include trophies and cash: $500 for first place chili, $200 for first place salsa.. Trophies and $250 in cash will be given to the first place Horseshoe team. Trophies will be awarded for first place in the Beer Chugging contest for men’s and women’s categories. This year’s raffle is a wheel barrel with dual front wheels filled with goodies from local Chamber Member Businesses.
