Crash on I-10 east of Quartzsite

December 7th, 6pm– A serious crash and vehicle fire have closed westbound lanes of Interstate 10 in Western Arizona, according to the Arizona Department of Transportation.

The crash occurred at milepost 40, about 20 miles east of Quartzsite. There is no estimated time to reopen the highway. Travelers seeking an alternate route can exit I-10 westbound at Vicksburg Road (milepost 45) and drive about seven miles north to US 60, then go west on that highway for about 15 miles and return to I-10.

Eastbound lanes of I-10 are unaffected.
