The Bureau of Reclamation is lowering the level of the river along the Parker Strip by approximately one foot beginning Monday (January 6th) and lasting two weeks (through January 17th).

The annual drawdown is intended to help the Colorado River Indian Tribes perform maintenance on the canals which serve the agricultural Parker Valley with irrigation water.

The area between Headgate Rock Dam near BlueWater Resort & Casino and Parker Dam upriver will be affected but normally causes a minimal impact upon river activities and recreation.
