The BlueWater Parker 425 Presented by Impact was just as big as ever, drawing big name and amateur racers and their fans to Parker, AZ for another high-octane desert race.
Notably it was a brutal year for Robby Gordon who, just back from the Dakar Rally in South America, rolled his truck during the first lap and had to put it on a trailer and forego the rest of the race. Nevertheless, his Speed Energy brand was a strong presence at the Best in the Desert race and Robby’s fans weren’t put off.
The unofficial results have been posted by the racing association and show that Jason Voss (#1) of Cupertino, CA took the overall win and the trick truck class win with a time of 7 hours, 18 minutes and 2 seconds on the course. He was followed by Gustavo Vildosola Jr (#21) who came in 10 minutes over Voss. Mark Weyrich (#9) was third, followed by Chris Kemp (#3) and Troy Herbst (#91).
The first 1500 class vehicle to finish was Corey Keysar (#1520) followed by Scott Bailey (#1529) and Garry Simpson (#1507).
Local racers Jasper Dyer, Randy Merritt and Rick Poole also finished the race in various classes, continuing Parker’s tradition of not only hosting but contributing racers to the sport.
