Chamber Warns Businesses of Unsolicited Inquiries

Attention Parker Area Chamber Members and Businesses:

We have received word that some members in the Parker and Lake Havasu Areas are being “solicited” via telephone for information regarding their businesses. They are trying to “update” information that is very old. They are identifying themselves as “on behalf of” the chamber of commerce.

Please know that this Chamber is currently NOT working with any organization for any promotion at this time. If we were, we would certainly use a member and we would notify you. Right now, our project is the Parker Tube Float and that is handled internally by our staff.

Recently there was a group from outside our area claiming to be producing an Arizona visitors guide and included filming of the area. These folks are not associated with The Parker Area Chamber of Commerce, Parker Area Tourism or the Arizona Office of Tourism, which would be the ‘Official’ State Visitor’s Guide that we promote and are included in as an official Arizona Visitor Center.

Whenever a “predator” like this penetrates our community, they just take money out. They don’t give back and they don’t join chambers. They are very self-serving and don’t care about small towns.

In addition, the “magnet guy” was here last week. He will tell you he is working with us and that we will have a listing on the magnet. He lies. He will charge you lots of money and you will rarely get what is promised in return.

Beware of these “slick-talking” people.
