I can see what a success the tube float was, but am very disappointed at all the trash I saw floating down the river, on the beaches and thrown out along the roadside, it is bad enough that some of the people that live here disrespect our beautiful river by not cleaning up after themselves but when people come from out of town to one of our events and trash it out is truly disappointing.
Other comments indicated a lower amount of trash than expected for an event with 10,000+ people. This may be a matter of comparison. Curious to hear from others about the cleanup.
The roll-off dumpster placed at Cienega Springs ramp was VERY helpful. There are always selfish, carless individuals who will litter no matter what steps are taken but for the most part loose trash left around the ramp area was greatly reduced this year. Thanks to the Chamber and all the volunteers for another great year!
