The Chairman of the Fort Mojave Indian Tribe is running – literally – to deliver a message to the Colorado River Indian Tribes in Parker.

Tim Williams was joined by some CRIT Mohave runners Tuesday morning as they ran along Highway 62 toward Parker, AZ. The party was greeted in Big River by Tribal Council Secretary Amelia Flores as they took a break.

“To kick of the Fort Mojave Days celebration, [Williams] is running here as a messenger of his people in the ancient tradition,” a CRIT Facebook message reads. “Please join us in welcoming him to our homeland by attending this historical event.”

Williams was expected to arrive sometime after 11:30am and was expected to run the journey back too.
