The Parker Rotary Club filled 45 backpacks with school supplies Thursday, sending them to Bouse Elementary School District ahead of their first day of school later this month.

With the generous support of Walmart who co-sponsored the drive, the club bought the backpacks and supplies for the kids of the school, who are in a rural area of La Paz County east of Parker.

“The school board couldn’t be more grateful,” said George Nault, a Governing Board member and member of Rotary. “This will help the children go into the school year for success in learning.”

Jason Kellett, the manager of Walmart in Parker, is also a member of the Parker Rotary Club and was a key part of making the drive happen.

Bouse Elementary School opens its doors for the new semester August 18th.
