The Parker Police Department will be conducting a DUI Detail this Labor Day holiday weekend, according to a statement from PPD.
“We will have extra officers patrolling during peak travel times day and night,” the department says. “The ability to have more officers on patrol is made possible through grant money received from the Arizona Governor’s Office of Highway Safety.”
PPD says it will be focusing on DUI apprehension and investigations.
“We encourage everyone who drinks not to drive and to have a sober driver. We want everyone who lives here, and who comes to visit our community, to have a safe and enjoyable weekend. Please, if you are going to drink, don’t drive, and always wear you seatbelts.”
Monday, September 7th is a US Holiday. Traffic in the Parker area, and to and from the river, is expected to be higher than normal over the long weekend.
