Halloween in Parker this year revolved around the Parks & Recreation Committee’s ‘Trunk or Treat’ event at Pop Harvey Park Saturday night.
The Parks and Recreation Committee thanked their partners at the La Paz County Attorney’s Office and PAACE Youth for Youth for a successful event. “We are so excited to see the level of participation for this event,” said Tammy Minor Town of Parker Parks & Recreation Committee Member.
Several community service organizations, government agencies and local residents participated. Many decorated trunks and passed out candy to Parker community children. There were a large number of ghouls, goblins, super heroes and much more present at the festivities. Other activities included face painting, carnival games, jumping castles and a haunted house. The Parker Senior Center was awarded the grand prize for the best decorated trunk.
The Parks and Recreation Committee began planning this event to meet one of their goals to build and strengthen the Parker community. The County Attorney’s Office joined in to assist in increasing child safety awareness. PAACE Youth for Youth volunteered to create a new haunted house using the old Parker pool house.
The next event being organized by Parks & Rec is ‘Christmas in the Park’, scheduled for December 13th at 5:30pm. Contact the Town of Parker Public Works Department for more details.
I am not one to comment but this was was a great idea my daughter lives in Boulder City Nv. and they do this for the kids. I really like Holloween to see the younger ones in there costumes and the parents that dress also as a family. I live in Bluewater Lagoon and I noticed a difference this year. Keep up the good work for the children in Parker a job well done.
Just wanted to say I really like the new format on the Parker Live web page.
