Purple Badge: Parker school principal tells story of domestic violence

It’s National Domestic Violence Awareness Month. 1 in 4 women has experienced some form of domestic violence, and the Principal of Blake Primary School in Parker, AZ is one of them.

 
In this exclusive video by Parker Live, Joanna Hermes opens up about her experience in an abusive relationship over 15 years ago, and how receiving help as a victim of domestic violence led to an amazing change in her life.

La Paz County Sheriff’s Captain Curt Bagby talks about why he changed the Department’s badge to a purple one for the month of October and Sheriff Bill Risen talks about the cycle of abuse, the Power and Control Wheel, which can be used to identify abusive patterns of behavior.
