“Dr. Joel” was that “one of a kind colleague that enters one’s life, calms the storms, uplifts, and makes each person who knew him a genuinely better person.
We worked together day by day for the last four years. I grew to rely on his judgement, wisdom, experience, and humor about life in general. The absence of “DR. JOEL” is a loss to each of his paitents and each one of us staff member at LaPaz Regional Hospital .
I for one, am able to say with certainty, my life is much better for having been a colleague and friend of Dr. Joel Braunstein, D.O. As the Old Irish in my family used to say; “I hope you were in heaven at least 30 minutes before the devil knew you were dead my friend”.
You are very missed by each one of us at River Health Clinic. God’s peace, joy, and happiness be yours now and forevermore!

  5. When did Dr. Braunstein pass away? I live in Elkhart, Indiana and he was my family doctor. When my father passed away in 2004 he came to the hospital and sat with us and he has left such deep footprints in my heart and that of my family. I was thinking of him today and saw that he was practicing in Arizona and asked my husband if maybe we could vacation in AZ this fall and visit him. I am so sad to hear that he has died but not surprised and the wonderful comments about him. What an amazing legacy he has left behind.
