Brad Sale appointed to Richard Lamb’s AWC board seat

Brad Sale has been appointed to the Arizona Western College District Governing Board after Richard Lamb, who served on the board since 2014, passed away in July. Sale is the Superintendent of the Parker Unified School District.

“Sale has been a dedicated educational leader in Parker, Arizona for many years,” reads a press release from AWC. “As Superintendent of Parker Unified School District #27, he has demonstrated a deep commitment to fostering academic excellence and supporting students and families across the community. His long-standing experience and local insight make him a valuable addition to the AWC District Governing Board.”

AWC staff welcomed Sale to the role.

“With Brad Sale’s expertise and deep commitment to education, we are confident the AWC District Governing Board will continue to thrive in advancing our college’s mission,” said AWC President, Dr. Daniel Corr. “His leadership and community insights align with our goals. This continues the historic commitment and support the La Paz board members have demonstrated over many years. We’re excited to work alongside him to shape the future of education in Yuma and La Paz Counties.”

Sale joined the rest of the board at his first District Governing Board meeting today on the Yuma Campus. His term runs through December 31, 2026.

The AWC District Governing Board is a five-member body representing Yuma and La Paz Counties. Board members serve six-year terms and meet monthly to guide the college’s operations and strategic direction. The board focuses on educational governance and community engagement to ensure that AWC meets the needs of the diverse communities it serves.

Current board members include President Dennis Booth, Secretary Olivia Zepeda, Maria Chavoya, Dr. Kenneth MacFarland, and Brad Sale.
