Woman allegedly hits man with golf club at Emerald Canyon

A woman playing a round of golf was arrested after she allegedly hit another player in the head with a golf club.

The incident began after Jennifer Innis, 45, and her husband Scott got into a verbal altercation with two other males at the golf course over a golf ball that was hit in their direction, according to law enforcement. A physical altercation ensued with the males, and Innis allegedly struck one of them in the back of the head with the golf club.

La Paz County Sheriff’s Department responded to the scene. The male that was struck in the head received medical attention on scene and was then transported to La Paz Regional Hospital for further treatment.

Innis was arrested for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon or dangerous instrument. The behavior of the other three involved parties will be reviewed by the La Paz County Attorney’s Office for possible misdemeanor disorderly conduct or assault charges.
