The Bureau of Indian Affairs will have a scheduled power outage Wednesday for 10 hours. Details were shared by BIA ahead of the outage Tuesday.
The outage will be from 6 am until 4 pm, roughly 10 hours. The affected areas will include Booth Road heading south to the CRIT Reservation boundary near Ehrenberg, Arizona, excluding Mochem Housing. Additionally, the Lost Lake and Hidden Valley areas on the California side of the reservation will be impacted. Big River will not be affected by this outage.
Many services will not be available during the outage, according to BIA, which urged people to keep emergency supplies in a convenient spot, charge phones and other devices, and any portable battery chargers.
Other advice includes: Minimize opening refrigerator and freezer doors, keep a first aid kit, and have water and nonperishable food available.
