APS has informed Parker Live that power in the town of Quartzsite may be out until tomorrow (Thu) afternoon.
Dry ice is now available at the Shell gas station at Highway 95 and Main Street in Quartzsite. APS is working on setting up a cooling center which will be open for everyone. All 2012 permanent customers in Quartzsite are currently without power due to 17 separate power poles downed in last night’s storm in three separate locations along the main line that serves the town.

UPDATE 4:16pm– APS advising possible electricity restoral to the Quartzsite AZ area may be as late as Friday. (Via Nixle.)
UPDATE 4:29pm– As of 3pm, there are still 2150 customer still without power in La Paz and Yuma Counties, principally in the town of Quartzsite. In Yuma, approximately 50 customers are without power, in Bouse, 60 customers, and in Quartzsite 2012. Outage is expected to last through Thursday, possibly until Friday (July 8th). APS still has dry ice available for customers at the Shell gas station on the northwest corner of Highway 95 and Main Street in Quartzsite. A cooling center is now open at First Assembly of God Church at 665 Tyson Street in Quartzsite. Food and water is available.
