Fourth of July troops shipment sent

For those of you that have taken part in Christmas for the Troops and our 4th of July shipment, thank you very much.  To those that helped pack the boxes with the goodies for the Troops, well done.  A special thank you to our friends at Dumas Walker.  Not only did they provide baked goods to be sent to the troops, they also, through their fund raising efforts, contributed over $600 to cover the cost of shipping.  A special thank you to Jim at Lake Manor Market who provided numerous magazines and books.  We packed 39 boxes that will be going to four different locations in Iraq and Afghanistan.  This time we utilized anysoldier.com to pick out the locations that would receive our shipments.

Thank you Juanita for your help and the support of KLPZ Radio 1380 am.  Without community support this would not be possible.

Many items being requested by the troops are personal care products for both men and women.  If you have time take a look at anysoldier.com and read what the troops have to say.  It makes you wish that you could send what each group of soldiers request.  You will notice that the majority of those asking for items share the items they receive with all of their fellow soldiers.

Start thinking about our Christmas shipment.  Our final date for receipt of items will be on Thanksgiving Day.  We realize times are tough here.  But things are tough in the war zone also.  Please help us with Christmas for the Troops.

DON’T FORGET FLOG.  THE LIONS CLUB WILL HAVE A PIN FLAG IN THE TOURNAMENT.  HELP SUPPORT KLPZ IN THEIR COMMUNITY EFFORTS.
